[origin: EP0867235A2] The sieve base comprises a sieve mesh (13) formed of wire mesh. The sieve mesh is fixed by tension elements at defined edge areas. At least one edge area is connected to the associated tension element (11) by a flexible buffer element (15), which applies tensile forces. All of the fixed edge areas can be connected by the buffer elements. The buffer element consists of elastically deformable plastics. A tension fabric (14) can be fitted on the buffer element on the side opposite the screen base (10). The tension elements can comprise two profiled rods, between which the edge of the buffer element is clamped.
