Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0867360A2] The diving gear, for long-term submersion, is a longitudinal hollow body (1) which can accommodate a human body within it with room to shift the position. The body has elasticity in at least one zone of driving movement, and it is fitted with at least one propelling tail or other fin.(2). The body (1) is less elastic in the zones not used for drive movements. The drive movement zones can be in the centre or the rear of the hollow body (1). The diver has linkages to operate the drive fin(s). Also claimed is a prodn. technique, where a waterproof layer is placed within a negative mould under an insulation layer, where the waterproof layer is held in place by underpressure and the insulation layer is foamed over it between a positive and negative mould. The hollow body is of rubber or plastics.
