A mechanism to control and monitor a yarn cutter, at a loom, generates at least one electrical signal on rotation of the drive motor shaft, which is passed by the control electronics to the loom control. On the omission of a signal, the weaving action is stopped. Also claimed is an apparatus with a monitor (4) at the shaft of the electromotor (10) or at least at the shaft shrouding. A second monitor (3) is outside the rotating zone of the motor shaft. Both monitors (3,4) register the motor shaft rotation.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Steuerung und Überwachung der Schneidfunktion einer elektromotorisch angetriebenen Fadenschere (7) in Webmaschinen und eine Fadenschere (7), insbesondere zum Abtrennen von Fangleisten. Die Überwachung der Schneidfunktion erfolgt durch Überwachen der Rotation der Motorwelle (11) des Scherenantriebs (10). Hierbei wird z.B. eine Einrichtung (3), die z.B. ein magnetischer Aufnehmer ist, und eine Einrichtung (4), die z.B. ein Permanentmagnet ist, verwendet. Beide Einrichtungen (3,4) sind am Scherenantrieb (10) angeordnet. <IMAGE>
