Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0867591A2] Openings in building walls are closed by a framing system, which supports esp. glazing screens and doors. The framing elements are screwed together using fittings to connect them. A metal inlay is included within the hollow cavities of the framing elements, to increase especially the torsional strength. Fastening screws pass into internal chambers containing the reinforcing elements. The latter pref. pass through the full length of the frames, and may be of unplasticised, profiled PVC or metal.
