[origin: EP0867974A2] The contact element includes a press-in area for insertion into the drill hole, which comprises a needle eye formed between two elastic contact thighs, and a connection area which joins over a transfer area to the press-in area. The press-in area (2) is formed from at least two layers (5,6) of a metal sheet, which comprise respectively a needle eye (7,8) between two contact thighs (9, 12). The layers are arranged on each other symmetrically to the plane between the layers, and the layers are arched in the area of the needle eye, towards the outer edge (109 to 112) of the contact thighs.
