[origin: WO9630202A1] A honeycomb core is built up of strips made with a material such as cellulose material, the strength and/or the shape of which is sensitive to the action of moisture. The strips are built up in layers and comprise a layer of plastic. The plastic layer can be located between two layers of the moisture-sensitive material and be integral with this. With this honeycomb core a honeycomb panel in the shape of a sandwich construction can be built up, which comprises two cover plates made with a material such as cellulose material, the strength and/or the shape of which is sensitive to the action of moisture, which cover plates form panel faces, between which the core is glued, in which at least one of the cover plates is moisture-proof. At least one of the cover plates can be built up in layers and can comprise a layer of plastic.
