[origin: WO9618991A1] The RGB analog signals generated by a VGA card (54) in a personal computer are applied to a first input of an analog multiplexer (70). The digital video data stored in a video memory buffer (62) on a video card is converted to RGB analog signals using a D/A converter (66), and these analog signals are applied to a second input of the analog multiplexer (70). An analog comparator (76) compares a preselected color key (78) to the analog output of the VGA card (54). A method for automatically aligning video data with a video window (56) on a display screen (58) in a multimedia system is also described.
