[origin: WO9724852A2] The invention relates to a method and arrangement for monitoring of metering pulses in a telephone system which are transmitted as cycles, occurring in pulses, of an oscillating frequency which is above the voice frequency band. To achieve digital evaluation of the metering pulses while maintaining a low level of outlay for analogue/ digital conversion, metering pulses (6) modified by modulation with rectangular pulses are produced with a low frequency spectrum components in the voice band, thus enabling conversion using economical coders (7).
