Abstract (en)

The tablet compressing machine compacts one pharmaceutical product (2) at a time in various stages in order to obtain one layer for each product (2) and thereby to produce a multi-layer tablet (3). The machine comprises: an annular body (6) with a vertical axis of rotation (Y) and provided with drive means; hollow bodies (7) carried by the annular body (6) and with their own horizontal and radial longitudinal axis (X) with respect to the axis of rotation (Y); feed units, one for each product (2), each of which has a container (8) and a hopper (11) for feeding the product (2) to the corresponding container (8), and two pistons (12 and 13) for each of the hollow bodies (7), adapted to slide into the hollow body (7) by means of drive means in order to form a chamber (34) immediately below the container (8) for each of the feed units, to compact the product (2) in order to obtain one layer for each product (2) and to produce the multi-layer tablet (3) in correspondence with the last of the feed units and then to eject the multi-layer tablet (3) from the hollow body (7). <IMAGE>
