Abstract (en)
In an arrangement in which a web of material is passed through one or more nips (9) in a press section (1) and thereby dewatered and smoothed, and in which, as a result of the configuration of the press section, one side of the web of material experiences a stronger smoothing effect than the other, a device (5) is provided to roughen the smoother side of the web. The arrangement is applicable especially to the pressing of paper in a paper making machine. Also claimed is a process in which one side a web of material (especially paper in a paper machine), which is more strongly smoothed than the other side in a dewatering press arrangement, is roughened.

Vorrichtung zur Entwässerung einer Materialbahn (10), insbesondere einer Papierbahn in einer Papierherstellungsmaschine, mit einer Pressenpartie (1) mit mindestens einem Preßspalt (9), durch welchen die Materialbahn (10) geführt und dabei entwässert und geglättet wird, wobei aufgrund der Ausgestaltung der Pressenpartie (1) eine Seite der Materialbahn (10) eine stärkere Glättung erfährt als die andere Seite, wobei zur Erzielung einer im wesentlichen übereinstimmenden Rauhigkeit der Ober- und Unterseite der Materialbahn (10) eine Vorrichtung (5) zur Aufrauhung der in der Prossenpartie (1) stärker geglätteten Bahnseite vorgesehen ist. <IMAGE>
