[origin: EP0870929A2] The lift has a differential ram (1) with two working chambers in a circuit containing a fluid pump (15). The circuit can be partly-closed and contain a fluid-storage tank (20). Each working chamber (23,24) can be preceded by a stop valve regulating the flow, these typically holding the load and forming a lowering brake (25,28), while a separate non-return valve (26,29) can be provided for each of these valves. The latter can be contained in a pipe (27) connecting the two working chambers of the ram (1). A further stop valve (32), particularly a (2/2-way) one, can be included, through which fluid is returned to the tank.
