Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0870985A2] Fluidising gas containing oxygen is supplied to a turbulent burner (1). A hot mixture of gas and solids with temperatures ranging from 800 to 1400 degrees C is extracted from the top of the turbulent combustion chamber, and conveyed to a separator. At least part of the hot solids separated from the mixture in the separator (13) is fed into a mixer (8) positioned outside the turbulent combustion chamber. Waste materials are supplied to the mixer and mixed with the hot solids to form a solids mixture and pyrolysis gas. At least part of the solids mixture is conveyed into the turbulent combustion chamber and the pyrolysis drawn off.
