Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0871147A2] the method involves storing data from sensors (4) and/or selection devices (5) at least temporarily in an accident data memory (3). The data are transferred over an on-board data bus between the sensors and/or selection devices and an engine controller (9) and/or a controller (10) of a system controlling the vehicle's driving characteristics. Some or all of the data which is being transferred over the on-board bus can be read from the bus into the accident data memory and stored there.
