Abstract (en)
[origin: DE19546526A1] This fire extinguisher contains an aerosol-generating unit (18) and an igniting device (24) for igniting this unit (18). The igniting device (24) is arranged in a cavity formed by a pipe socket (23) of the lid (20) and by a threaded part (25) screwed from inside into the pipe socket (23). An empty extension (35) of reduced diameter provided on the threaded part (25) projects into a channel (39) in the unit (18) and has outlets (38) through which the combustion gasses from the igniting unit (29) can escape. The same igniting element (27) may be used for different units (18), since only the threaded part (25) or its extension (35) need to be adapted to the unit (18) in question.
