Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0872704A1] The electronically activated microgovernor has flexible material spaced around an ogival section. The flexible material has piezo-electric slabs (10,11) held beneath it, and hinging around a point (12,13). Following munition deployment, the piezoelectric slabs are activated by an electronics circuit, producing a small movement and pushing out the flexible section (14,15) to produce a protruding section. The section roll stabilises the munition, so that the proximity fuze can operate.
