[origin: EP0874160A2] A guide wheel encloses the centrifugal rotor (3) and is accommodated with it in a common housing (13) joined to the motor housing (10). The rotor has a supporting disc (4), from which blades (5) protrude in the axial direction, a cover plate (6) being fitted over their outer ends. At the inlet opening (17) the housing overlaps the inner peripheral edge (20) of the plate, leaving an intervening gap (21). At the overlap, an elastic seal (23) adheres to the housing (13) and bears against the plate without sticking to it, filling the intervening gap (21). At the plate inner edge, a coating can be applied, preventing the seal sticking to it, being typically of sheet material.
