Abstract (en)
The circuit breaker construction has an outer fixed section (10) with two contacts (30,40). there is a central moving contact (50) which can move between a closed position, contacting the fixed contacts and an open position. Alongside each fixed contact there is a magnetic field source (60). The field source elongates the arc formed on switching transversally to the direction of movement of the moving contact.

La présente invention concerne un dispositif de coupure électrique, notamment pour basse ou haute tension, comprenant au moins un contact fixe (30, 40 ; 130) et un contact mobile (50 ; 150) susceptible de déplacement au moins entre deux positions : une position de fermeture dans laquelle le contact mobile (50 ; 150) est relié au contact fixe (30, 40 ; 130) et une position d'ouverture dans laquelle le contact mobile (50 ; 150) est séparé du contact fixe (30, 40 ; 130), et au moins une source de champ magnétique (60 ; 160) adaptée pour allonger l'arc apparaissant entre le contact mobile (50 ; 150) et le contact fixe (30, 40 ; 130) lors de la phase d'ouverture, caractérisé par le fait que la source de champ magnétique (60 ; 160) est adaptée pour allonger l'arc transversalement à la direction générale prédéterminée de déplacement du contact mobile (50 ; 150) par rapport au contact fixe (30 ; 130). <IMAGE>
