[origin: DE19627794A1] The invention relates to an extending table (1) with an extendable support structure (6) with toothed sliding bodies which are advantageous in that they transfer large forces and achieve a very high level of stability for the entire support structure. The toothed sliding bodies preferably have at least for each sliding pair at least two inclined toothed flanks resulting in optimum guiding but no jamming. The solution enables considerable sliding clearance for the toothed sliding bodies, and the clearance action to be neutralised by a curved embodiment of the toothed slideway countersinking system in the longitudinal beams of the support structure. The end table panels are advantageously reinforced with an open stabilising rod inserted in an omega groove, and the inserted table panels have a lightweight structure. Said table panels are also clamped together by an automatic control cable having a friction tension roller.
