[origin: WO9722694A2] The present invention relates to a nucleic acid encoding a polypeptide that has the properties of an Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM)-associated autoantigen, which nucleic acid comprises: (a) the coding sequence of SEQ. ID. No. 1, 10 or 11, and/or the sequence complementary thereto; (b) a sequence which hybridises to a sequence defined in (a); (c) a sequence that is degenerate as a result of the genetic code to a nucleic acid sequence defined in (a) or (b); (d) a sequence having at least 80 % homology to a sequence defined in (a), (b) or (c). It also relates to the polypeptides encoded by such nucleic acids, and to diagnostic methods which employ such polypeptides.
