[origin: DE19600328C1] A large number of such tufting needles is moulded into needle modules which, in turn, are secured to a needle bar. On one side the tufting needles have a thread guide groove and one edge of the looper side opposite the thread guide groove is bevelled. Several variants must be held in readiness depending on the purpose and looper design. In the tufting needle and needle module system, therefore, there must be further simplifications so that the needle modules can be used for all ranges of looper designs. The invention provides for the second edge of the looper side of the tufting needle also to be bevelled.
