[origin: DE19520206A1] The invention concerns a sensor with a bridge arrangement (B1) of a plurality of magneto-resistive thin film bridge elements (E1 to E4). All the bridge elements (E1 to E4) are constructed with the same layered structure on a common substrate (13) and display a giant magneto-resistive (GMR) effect. In addition, each bridge element has a bias layer part and a conductive layer (6i) which is provided for guiding a set current (Ie) in order to set in a fixed manner a given orientation direction for the magnetization in the bias layer part.
