Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0875437A2] The train sensor uses pressure chambers (21,41) and associated pressure sensors (23,43), for detecting variations in the pressure between the rail track and the track bed (2) upon passage of the train wheels, for supplying a train warning signal to a warning station (15), positioned along the track ahead of the train, via a communication channel (11). The detected pressure variations are evaluated by comparison with a threshold value, with a fault signal supplied to the communication channel when the pressure signal falls below a given level.
