Abstract (en)
A universal roof vent that requires no structural alterations, and is outwardly invisible may be installed in pitched roofs of unsupported underlay construction at any time. In the event of unacceptable positive, or negative wind loads, extensions to cover 16 may close down automatically to dampen airflow. An air filter 26 is provided. A second embodiment of the vent is for use in roofs of rafter, close-board, counter-batten, underfelt and batten construction. A roof vent breathes through commonplace fissures, inherent in most traditional types of roofing material, without using externally mounted units. Air may flow through a vent, between the horizontal overlaps of any underlay into roof spaces, without rending the underlay or impairing its effectiveness.
