[origin: WO9726820A1] The proposal is for a cleaning device for individual items of cutlery, especially knives, with a liquid-proof container having an aperture through which the item can be at least partly inserted into said container. The container (1) has on the inside nozzles (6) with a supply line, through which a cleaning liquid (8) can be sprayed, said nozzles (6) are directed in such a way that the cleaning liquid (8) strikes an inserted item (10) of cutlery. The container (1) has an outlet (9) in its base, the supply line to the nozzles (6) has a valve and/or a pump and there is a control device to operate the valve(s) or the pump.
