According to the invention, a brake pressure rising gradient (G) is calculated on the basis of a brake pressure build-up in the preceding brake pressure build-up phase (25) and the brake pressure build-up or the process of the brake pressure build-up is calculated and given on the basis of this rising gradient (G) and of the calculated wheel brake cylinder pressure at the beginning of the current brake pressure build-up phase (27) and on the basis of the current, calculated blocking pressure level (N3) of the brake pressure build-up or the progress of the brake pressure build-up.
