[origin: DE19649444A1] The invention relates to a lock with an operating device for a bolt (1), into which, in the open position, a staple (20) engages. The lock can be brought into lock-position manually, but returns to release-position only upon receiving an electric signal. For this, the bolt (1) is spring-biased in locking-direction. Furthermore, the operating device (50 to 53) is connected with the bolt (1) by means of an electromechanical coupling device (30, 40, 60, 70). This particularity of this coupling device is that it creates a spring-actuated connection between the operating device (50 to 53) and the bolt (1) only when the bolt (1) is in lock-position, and only after an electric control command. Inversely, this spring-actuated connection is cancelled again as soon as the bolt returns to its release-position. The electric control command can be produced in particular by insertion of a coded card in a reader device, or without contact by means of a transponder.
