[origin: EP0878302A1] The pivotable cylinder has an associated angular position measurement device. The position of the pivoting mechanism is measured wrt. the side walls. A demand rotation angle is derived from the rate of paper feed converted into an angle value and the pivot angle. The demanded rotation angle is compared with the angular position of the cylinder wrt. the pivoting mechanism to derive a control signal for controlling the rate of rotation of the cylinder.
