[origin: EP0878369A1] A long ballast truck has a single container (2) with a conveyor in the bottom to transfer ballast to a rising conveyor (8) at one end of the truck to spread onto the track. The weight of the container is supported by two linked flatbeds and with two swivel mountings (19,20) between the flatbeds and the container. One if the swivel mountings (19) has a sliding fitting on its flatbed. The sliding action is provided by a slider (21) moving along the flatbed using an array of rollers.
