[origin: EP0878674A2] The boiler has a housing (1) provided with feed and return connections (2,3), for circulation of water through the housing so that it is heated via a horizontal combustion chamber (4) in the base of the housing and heating surfaces (5) for recovering waste heat from the combustion gases fed to the boiler flue (11). The feed connection (2) is provided at the top of the boiler housing, with a flow guide (6) fitting around the heating surfaces in the vicinity of the feed connection, provided with a bypass opening (12), for preventing the heating surfaces dropping below the dew point temperature as a result of the cold water flow.
