Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0878810A2] The ignition coil has a primary coil (3) that is positioned within a secondary coil (4), encased within an insulating layer (8). The coil assemblies are located within a pair of core elements (10a,10b). The outer sections have air gaps (17) between the insulation and the outer limbs and within this is a foil of an organic polymer matrix containing a ferrite magnetic filler.
