[origin: DE19604056C1] The invention relates to a hand-operated instrument for transferring a film (7) from a support sheet (6) to a substrate (8). Said instrument is provided with an application device (1) which has an end region (11) which projects from a housing. The support sheet (6) coming from a supply reel extends to form a winding reel around said end region on which for pulling and for pushing the hand-operated instrument there is one contact surface (9a, 9b) formed in each case by way of which the support sheet (6) can be pressed against the substrate (8) to transfer the film (7). To this end, the application device (1) contains two application strips (4a, 4b) spaced by a clearance (18) and each having one of the two contact surfaces (9a or 9b).
