Abstract (en)
Foundry sand core hardening equipment includes a catalyst vapour/carrier gas mixing stage (1) which is connected via a programme controlled valve (2), a pump (3) and a flowmeter (4) to a catalyst supply container (5). A programme controlled compressed air source (6) is followed by the core-making mould in which the core is exposed to a catalyst enriched gas stream and then optionally a compressed air stream. The novelty is that the valve (2) in the delivery line (7) of the supply container (5) is periodically connected to the return line (8) to the supply container (5) for pressure equalisation in the feed system. Preferably, the mixing stage (1) includes an evaporator block (9) of nickel plated, iron oxide-enriched, porous silicon carbide, aluminium oxide, zirconium oxide or zirconium carbide ceramic, fitted with a permanent magnet (14).

Die Einrichtung zum Aushärten von Giesserei-Kernen aus einer Sand enthaltenden Masse, bei welchem der Kern zu seiner Härtung im Kern-Formwerkzeug einem mit einem Katalysator angereicherten Gasstrom und gegebenenfalls nachfolgend einem Druckluftstrom ausgesetzt wird, umfasst eine dem Kern-Formwerkzeug vorschaltbare Misch-Stufe (1) zur Erzeugung eines Katalysatordampf-Trägergas-Gemisches, die über programmgesteuerte Ventilmittel (2), Pumpenmittel (3) und Durchflussmesser (4) mit einem Katalysator-Vorlagebehälter (5) sowie mit einer programmgesteuerten Druckluftquelle (6) in Strömungsverbindung steht. Die Ventilmittel (2) in der Vorlaufleitung (7) des Vorlagebehälters (5) sind dabei temporär auf eine Rücklaufleitung (8) zum Vorlagebehälter (5) umschaltbar zum Druckausgleich im Vorlaufsystem. Ferner ist in der Misch-Stufe (1) ein blockförmiger Verdampfer-Teil (9) aus porösem Keramik angeordnet. <IMAGE>
