Abstract (en)
The starter head (13) of a starter billet is intended for a continuous casting installation with an oscillating mould (1), a section (8) for forming a partly solidified billet and a section (11) for billet guide and support. The starter head consists of a bottom section and a broadened top section. The bottom section has a thickness equal to the billet thickness in the billet guide and support section (11). The top section of the starter head takes the form of a hollow deformable funnel capable of stopping melt exit from the mould.

Bei einer Stranggießanlage bei der zusätzlich zu einer oszillierenden Durchlaufkokille 1 und dem nachfolgenden Strangführungsgerüst 11 noch ein Verformungsgerüst 8 zwischen Durchlaufkokille 1 und Strangführungsgerüst 11 oder innerhalb des Strangführungsgerüstes 11 angeordnet ist, ergeben sich durch die Formatänderung des Gußstranges 10 Probleme mit dem Ausfördern des Anfahrkopfes 13. Um einen Anfahrkopf 13 auch unter solchen Bedingungen ohne zusätzliche Verstellmanipulationen am Strangführungsgerüst 11 ausfördern zu können, wird vorgeschlagen, daß der Anfahrkopf 13 von einem Bodenteil 19 und einem vom Bodenteil aufragenden Erweiterungsteil 20 gebildet ist, wobei der Bodenteil 19 eine Dicke 22 aufweist, die im wesentlichen der Gießstrangdicke 18 im Strangführungsgerüst 11 entspricht und der Erweiterungsteil 20 den Formhohlraum 3 der Kokille 1 ausgangseitig abschließt und als deformierbarer Angießtrichter ausgebildet ist. <IMAGE>
