Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0881316A2] The sewing machine attachment is used to start sewing a thread chain, in a chain-stitch sewing machine. It has a thread chain grip (7) in front of the needle plate (3) in the stitching direction (N) to bring it back and also clamp and deflect the thread chain. The machine has gripping nippers (8), moving along the stitching direction and a nippers carrier (9) moving across the stitching direction.
