Abstract (en)

[origin: EP0881591A1] Method and apparatus for recognizing and ordering text in an image stored in a computer. The text is grouped into multiple blocks, with the text blocks represented as a graph having vertices and edges based on proximity and characteristics of the text blocks to each other. An optimal Hamiltonian path through the vertices is calculated, and the text blocks are ordered according to the calculated optimal Hamiltonian path. <IMAGE>
