[origin: DE19644871A1] The invention relates to a method for providing samples of bulk material for optical analysis of materials. According to the invention the bulk material is placed on an oscillating conveyor, which produces rotary oscillations or rotary lift oscillations and conveys bulk material in the form of a flowing, constantly thick layer to sensor measurement point for analysis. The oscillating conveyor flow can be interrupted for the duration of analysis. The conveyor flow is thus subjected to spectroscopic analysis. The invention also relates to a device to carry out the above-mentioned method, comprising an oscillating conveyor (1,2) to convey bulk material (5), so designed as to produce rotary oscillations or rotary lift oscillations, and preferably a conveyor container (2) with a window, closed at the top.
