Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0882655A1] The container (1) comprises a cylindrical body (2) of tinplate with a lengthwise soldered joint (6), a tinplate base (3) and an aluminium lid (4) with a tab (5) for removing it. The lid is recesses and is fixed in place by a deposit of hot-melt adhesive (7) adjacent to the solder line. The adhesive is applied e.g. by spraying, and after the lid has been fitted the container is inverted and filled before the base is fixed in place.
