[origin: EP0882669A1] Next to the horse's skin, the cover has a bottom layer (11) made of knitted fabric sensitive to the horse's skin and permeable to air and water. The middle layer (12) consists of one or more knitted fabrics permeable to air and water. At least parts of the middle layer have a bottom (13) and a top (14) layer of knitted fabric with intermediate layer removable through a slit fastened by a sliding clasp fastener, in the top and middle layers. The top layer (16) made of woven water-tight fabric may incorporate parts which are permeable to air and water, for air ventilation. The saddle cover has an edging seam (17) joining the layers (11,13,14,16).
