Abstract (en)
The case has an elongated, oval shape (1). One end, cut off by a partition (40), fits over a supporting pole top, to which it is secured by screws (4). A supply cable (23) rises through the hollow pole and enters an adjoining compartment (12) containing a board (9), supporting the lamp starter, ballast, etc., and a terminating or junction box (21) with plug-in connections (22,22A,22B) for the incoming, starter and lamp circuits. A switch (25) on top of this unit, controlling the incoming supply, is only closed when the lantern cover is securely in place. The remaining, largest compartment (13) contains the lamp envelope (30), under a reflector, shining through a window underneath.
