Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0882941A1] The search head forms an image of the field of view on a main detector via an imaging optical system. The main detector (16) detects a target in the field of view. The search head has a device for resisting noise caused by the transmission of high intensity radiation from the target towards the flying body. The noise resisting device contains a second detector (18) which responds to the high intensity radiation by detecting the position of its source. The operation of the second detector is not degraded by the high intensity radiation. The flying body can be steered towards the source using the outputs of either sensor.
