Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0883022A1] In a process for the preparation of a thermographic imaging element, a coating solution containing an organic silver salt and a binder is applied. The coating solution should have a viscosity at 25 DEG C of 500-500,000 mPa.s at a shear rate of 0.1 s<-1> and 0.1-100 mPa.s at a shear rate of 1,000 s<-1>. A coating free of streaks and wind-swept variations can be formed at a high speed. Thermographic and photothermographic imaging elements having improved surface quality and a satisfactory imaging capability are obtained.
