Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0883256A1] The transmission system for soliton signals with wavelength multiplexing an in which the bit times for the different multiplex channels are synchronous at least one point, incorporates an absorbent (61, 6i) which can be saturated at the aforementioned point. The usable spectral window of the absorbent covers the different multiplex channels, and the response time of the absorbent is only a small fraction of the bit time, preferably below 10 per cent.
