[origin: WO9826149A1] The invention relates to a prefabricated frame comprising two vertical uprights and at least one transverse element (2) which is connected at each end with either end of the uprights by an angle joint (40). Said transverse elements consists of a board (3, 4), supported on the internal side of the reveal, and two face boards (3.1, 3.1') covering an assembly joint from both sides and connected to the board by tongue and groove joints. To be able to achieve an aesthetically pleasing continuous mitre angle joint, the angle joint (40) is configured as a partial mitre with mutually compatible end stop surfaces (5.2, 5.2') which are invisible from the outside once the uprights and transverse element have been assembled, so as to prevent the ends of the boards from being displaced within the angle joint and projecting from it, and so that a decorative border running along the face boards and contoured edge of the frame can be obtained continuously through the mitre area.
