Abstract (en)
[origin: WO9500336A2] A process and arrangement are disclosed for controlling or regulating operations carried out by a printing machine. The object of the invention is to develop a process and arrangement which help and supplement the operator during a quality control, which allow a representative colour measurement site to be manually or automatically selected, which ensure a rapid regulation, reduce the amount of spoilage, the complexity and the costs of the control or regulation of operations carried out by a printing machine. For that purpose, co-ordinates for the measurement site examined by a picture recorder (15, 16) are determined from picture information which reproduce at least the surface of a printed object (2). The picture recorder (15, 16) detects a measurement field of defined size of the surface of a printed object (2) at each measurement site. The invention is particularly suitable for printing machines having devices for handling, printing and processing sheets of paper or other surfaces to be printed. In addition, the invention may be used to control or regulate devices mounted upstream or downstream of a printing machine, such as devices for separating, folding, cutting, collecting, stacking, annexing, including, sorting and filing sheets or webs.
