[origin: EP0884423A2] The water economising system has two or more balanced containers (1+2+3), each with a cover (2) and a base (3), connected to the cistern's outlet valve (8). The containers are of variable volume and can be adjusted along their supports, and the base of each one has an aperture (5) of a predetermined size or other means of controlling the water flow through it. The containers are designed to close the valve (8) more quickly following a short pressure on the flush operating lever, and all a full flush following a more prolonged pressure. They can be fitted with supplementary weights (11) or hold a given volume of supplementary water, adjustable by means of overflow outlets, a regulating tube or siphon.
