Abstract (en)
[origin: EP0884709A2] The system includes a memory (2) in which speed limits are stored for associated road sections. The currently occupied section of road is identified by a location unit, such as GPS, and the associated maximum speed is read out of the memory. An output unit outputs the maximum speed read out of the memory. Minimum speeds can also be stored in the memory and read out for each road section. The arrangement can have a speed governor (4).
