Abstract (en)

[origin: WO9816138A1] A chair is disclosed, specially an office chair (100) the height and inclination of which can be adjusted, comprising essentially a supporting body (20) affixed to a back column (15), a swiveling member (40) placed thereon on the knee side, a swiveling seat support (45) pivoting on a first joint area (1) on the knee side as well as a backrest support (75) acting in conjunction with the seat support by means of a second joint area (2), said backrest support being coupled to a third joint area (3) by the supporting body (20). The backrest support (75) is placed via sliding rings mounted thereupon (85, 85') on a slide guide(35, 35') shaped as a circular arc, wherein the slide guides are placed between the first joint area (1) on the knee side and the back column (15) on the supporting body (20). The forced swiveling movement along the slide guide (35, 35') of the backrest support (75) and of the seat support (45) acting in conjunction therewith may be blocked and released again at any of multiple desired positions by means of a locking mechanism (65) that can be engaged with the backrest support (75) mounted on the supporting body (20).
