[origin: DE19609095A1] The invention concerns a thread-delivery device (R) comprising: a storage drum (T) which is held in a stationary manner on a housing (1); a rotatable take-up tube (3) which is disposed between the housing (1) and the storage drum (T) and has an outwardly facing thread outlet (5); and a boom (9) which is rigid with the housing. Disposed in the boom is at least one optoelectronic sensor (S1, S2) which is aligned with a light inlet/outlet region (11, 12) and oriented at least on a storage drum surface region (7) on the take-up side. At least one wind deflector (13, 13'), which projects relative to the light inlet/outlet region (11, 12), is provided on the boom (9), between the thread outlet (5) and the light inlet/outlet region (11, 12), viewed in the axial direction of the storage drum (T). The object of the wind deflector (13, 13') is to guide a contaminated air flow (14) emerging from the thread outlet (5) away from the light inlet/outlet region (11, 12).
