[origin: EP0885812A1] A container closure cap, especially for bottles, is made of deep drawn metal and has a sealing insert(9) with a circumferential ring(11) having a compression zone(13) which presses against the container lip. A punch for cap manufacture has a circumferential recess and/or a circumferential projection at the outer edge of the end face at the location of the ring sealing area(11) of the cap.
