[origin: EP0885832A1] The base covering closes the opening of an underfloor space with the technical equipment of the conveyor by means of at least one cover component (3,4). With the cover component the opening can be freed for the purpose of access to the technical installations. The base covering, apart from the cover component, incorporates a connecting component (5). A device for raising and folding back the cover components (3,4,5) is available. The cover component (3) and the connecting component are separable and at the seam point (6.1) a sound-insulating intermediate layer is arranged. The device for raising and folding back is a multiple hinge with first, second and third rotary axes and with first, second, third and fourth hinge strips. The insulating and sealing intermediate layer is formed as an omega-shaped elastic profile and is secured in one long side of a cover profile (3,5).
